Dr. de Vries has extensive senior level experience in both the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Following more than 16 years as CEO of Pharming group N.V., the Dutch Euronext-listed bio-pharmaceutical company, in October 2024, he announced to not be up for re- election for another four years term and recently stepped down, he continues at Pharming for the remainder of 2025 as the Strategic Advisor to the CEO. He was previously CEO of both Switzerland-based 4-Antibody and Morphochem AG, and prior to this he worked at Novartis Pharma, Novartis Ophthalmics and at SmithKline Beecham Pharmaceuticals Plc, where he held senior business and commercial positions. Dr de Vries holds an MD degree from the University of Amsterdam and an MBA in General Management from Ashridge Management College (UK).
